MOMMY, WHY ARE WE IN A HURRY?

I told my 4-year-old recently that we had to hurry up, something I say much too often to my kids. In his 4-year-old wisdom he said to me, "Mommy, why are we always rushing?"

I like to quote a Pablo Neruda poem when my wife is stressed and rushing about:

"You can't cut time with your tired scissors."

She usually finds it less appropriate than I do.
