SEE WHAT BANNING ELECTRONICS CAN DO

so, we took away the twins' DS and X-box [actually their brother's] and Nintendo and all else wired and for Christmas got them legos--- Starwars Legos, a 1326 piece lego set...and for 12 hours straight, pretty much without interuption,[ we had to force feed them dinner at grandma's last night] they have been racing to finish the set...and they did it at 1 am last night. . .how sweet, to see my 10 year old twin boys build this amazing set. . . what an accomplishment, something I do not have the patience for . . . When I told them I am proud of them for putting together this amazing ship with 1300 pieces, they corrected me, "1326 pieces Mom"- : )

I think when the time comes (my only daughter is just 4 weeks old at the moment and her mother may not support this idea just yet) we will ban all indoor entertainment for several days in a row.

you have a ways to go for sure but our 4-year old already talks about a DC or gameboy and we vow to not get him one till he is much older - we learned from experience, having given our older boys electronics at much too young of an age... but banning indoor stuff for several days in a row is a great idea...it takes a while for them to get used to it, but they do appreciate it. going outside with the kids is also important. Happy New Year!
